Marmomacc fair 2015 – The Italian Stone Theatre

Marmomacc 2015: The fair celebrates its 50th anniversary in its usual location of Veronafiere from 30^th September to 3^rd October with many special and unprecedented events. This year, our participation will be double: we will have an exhibition stand (hall 6 stand C8) and we will have a leading role in hall 1 at “The Italian Stone Theatre”

The Italian Stone Theatre

Not only stone material but also last news about technology and machinery. They will be the protagonists of the undisputed event funded by the Ministry for Economic Development: an entire Hall, which is dedicated to stone floors and stone design.

In particular, CIPT Italporphyry in collaboration with Mec srl, as interpreters of the projects by Studio Miàs-Barcellona, will participate to the section Carpets of Stone curated by Raffaello Galiotto and Vincenzo Pavan.

The studio made this statement about the work:

Family portrait”: […] it is to use the soil as a blackboard. A blackboard with small parts. When you draw, these parts recall different readings. Every drawing, a sketched face. They can be joined in order to give origin to different figures of the same family.

I like that they remind to the drawings of the children on the ground. Alternatively, to the graffiti, which Brassaï photographed. They catch the simplest and immediate aspects of the faces, a child who laughs, a grandmother who cries, and a baby who opens its mouth. It is to make a family portrait about the possibilities, which the drawing on the soil can offer.

The blackboard, which is mentioned by the architect Josep Miàs, will be realized with the porphyry of Consorzio Italiano Porfido del Trentino, that in occasion of its “first” time at “The Italian Stone Theatre” can show at last the unbelievable potentialities of a production plant of manufactured products which is entirely automatized.

An industrial vision of the process, an expression of the new relationship man-machine, where the role of the mind,- that produces the ideas -, finds its ideal instrument in the operative automatized arm, which not only realizes the cut with an impressive precision and incomparable quality levels, but also which is able to identify and codify its knowledge, and to reproduce the practical experience and the human skilfulness for the use and the work of the Italian porphyry.
